Volunteer Stream Monitoring Spring Training

April 27 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Interested in protecting Northern Michigan’s rivers and streams? Join us for Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council’s Volunteer Stream Monitoring Spring Training!

This training will teach you how to monitor stream health and collect macroinvertebrates — tiny aquatic insects that help us measure water quality. We’ll begin with a brief indoor presentation at our office, enjoy a pizza lunch, and then head to the Bear River for hands-on field training.

No previous experience necessary — we’ll provide all the training, equipment, and support you need to get started!

Who Should Attend:
Anyone interested in freshwater protection! Volunteers must be comfortable walking along uneven terrain and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

What to Bring:
Weather-appropriate clothing
Waterproof boots (if you have them)
Your enthusiasm for protecting our waters!
