MI Paddle Stewards Train-The-Trainer

Save the Date! Michigan Sea Grant is partnering with Friends of the St. Clair River to host a MI Paddle Stewards Train-The-Trainer event. This will be held at a river in St Clair County (exact location TBD) with easy kayak/canoe/SUP launch and access. This will be a 3-hour outdoor paddle event, exact times TBD.
This program will focus on mostly aquatic (some terrestrial) plant ID from land, shore and kayak. Erick Elgin, Aquatic Ecologist and Water Resource Educator with Michigan State University Extension, will be leading the aquatic ID expert.
Michigan’s lakes and rivers often bustle with a variety of paddlers. Kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard users traverse the state’s many waterways in search of tranquility or adventure. Michigan Sea Grant is enlisting paddlers in a fight to protect the waters they love through the MI Paddle Stewards program.
Must provide your own kayak/canoe/SUP for the Aug 10 training.
