Huron River Day returns to Gallup Park in 2025
Mark your calendar for Huron River Day (HRD) on Sunday, May 18, noon-4 p.m. at Gallup Park (3000 Fuller Road). This free, family-friendly event is a celebration of the Huron River and all it has to offer — now in its 45th year, thanks to support from the DTE Foundation and the Bank of Ann Arbor.
You can look forward to hands-on activities, trying your hand at fishing, see live animals from Leslie Science & Nature Center (located inside the meeting room at Gallup Park), participate in the Eco-Challenge to win prizes and be sure to visit all the local eco-friendly exhibitor tables. Ann Arbor’s own Laith Al-Saadi — finalist from Season 10 of NBC’s “The Voice”— will be performing twice (1 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m.) bringing his signature blend of blues, soul and classic rock to the park!
Tentative schedule:
Noon, HRD begins
1 p.m. Guided hike (meet at the information booth)
1-2 p.m. Laith Al-Saadi (first set 60 minutes)
2 p.m. Guided hike (meet at the information booth)
2-2:30 p.m. Thirty-minute intermission (guest speaker)
2:30-3:30 p.m. Laith Al-Saadi (second set 60 minutes)
3 p.m. Guided hike (meet at the information booth)
4 p.m. HRD concludes
