Friends of the St. Clair River: Float Down Keep It Clean
August 18 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeFloat Down is an opportunity to celebrate our stunningly turquoise river while protecting its valuable drinking water and fish habitat!
We are asking floaters and spectators to contain and pick up their trash and dispose of it properly. With the support and efforts of many, we want to lessen the amount of garbage the yearly event leaves behind. Floaters and spectators interested in helping can:
- Take a mesh bag with you to contain your garbage.
- Place a Keep It Clean yard sign on your St. Clair River property.
- Sign up to be a Keep It Clean volunteer.
The St. Clair River is 40 miles of natural beauty and valuable drinking water. The river provides unlimited recreational opportunities while supporting endangered species like lake sturgeon, mudpuppies, madtoms, mooneyes, and mussels. We all have a responsibility to protect and celebrate this precious resource.
