2026 Flint River Stewardship Day

May 2 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Volunteers are invited to join the Flint River Watershed Coalition (FRWC), Keep Genesee County Beautiful (KGCB), and their partners at sites across Flint & Genesee County on Saturday, May 2 from 9AM – 12PM.  If you plan to participate, we ask that you bring your own water bottle to help us cut down on single use water bottles.  Granola bars will be provided to each site and lunch after the event.

Traditionally referred to as the Flint River and Community Cleanup, the annual Stewardship Day event brings community members together to make a big impact on the Flint River and its watershed. Originally started by the Friends of the Flint River Trail over 20 years ago to prepare the Flint River Trail for spring rides, this program of the Flint River Watershed Coalition has become a spring staple. In 2024, the FRWC teamed up with Keep Genesee County Beautiful to expand our locations into park spaces within the City of Flint.

*IMPORTANT – For adults, there are THREE liability waiver forms (Genesee County, KGCB Adult, FRWC) that need to be completed listed on linktr.ee/stewardshipday, FOUR if you are accompanying any minors (+ KGCB Minor)  We will have paper copies day of, but any done prior is  greatly appreciated.  Also, if you are signing up as a group, be sure each person completes this registration form as well.

If you have any questions or need to e-mail the liability waivers, feel free to reach out to Amanda at aedwards1@gcparks.org.

Thank you for helping to protect, promote, and improve your Flint River, its watershed, and our park spaces in 2026!
