Volunteers are needed to help collect macroinvertebrates from multiple sites in the Thornapple River Watershed in Eaton County. You may find yourself sorting through the samples\, picking out the macroinvertebrates from the rocks and leaves\, and putting them in a collection jar. Or you may find yourself in a stream (with proper equipment) scooping samples to be sorted. No training is required as there are jobs for people with and without experience. This is a great way to get introduced to the steam monitoring process and the interesting creatures that live in our rivers. Please contact Eaton Conservation District if you are interested in attending this event to see if it will be held.
