DESCRIPTION:The Manistee Conservation District (MCD) hosts a Household Hazardous Waste collection day every year on the 3rd Saturday in August at the Manistee County Road Commission. \n2025 details:\nSaturday\, August 16th\n9am-1pm\nManistee County Road Commission\n8946 Chippewa Hwy\, Bear Lake\, MI \nRecycle your unused\, unwanted\, or outdated cleaning products\, pesticides\, pharmaceuticals\, electronics\, batteries & more. Safe disposal of these materials not only protects our local natural resources\, but it also protects our health. \nThis program is made possible through a partnership with the Michigan Department of Agriculture’s Clean Sweep Program\, the Household Hazardous Waste Committee\, and contributions from local townships and villages. \nClick HERE to view the 2025 brochure which includes a list of acceptable and unacceptable materials and Q&A’s \nAre you interested in volunteering on collection day? \nWe are looking for volunteers to help at various material collection stations. Volunteer duties may include: off-loading materials from vehicles\, unloading electronics\, accepting donations\, directing traffic on roads and at intersections\, off-loading appliances\, and data collection.
