SUMMARY:11th Annual Manistee River Clean-up
DESCRIPTION:About the project: On Saturday\, July 12\, 2025\, MUCC’s On the Ground program will be partnering with Steelhead Manifesto\, U.S. Forest Service\, and Michigan DNR for our annual Manistee River Clean-up. The event will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees will gather at the boat launch to sign-in then head out either on the water by boat or walk along the riverbanks to clean-up various locations of the river. The Manistee River is one of Michigan’s Wild and Scenic Rivers and a very popular river for Michigan anglers\, paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts. \nMeeting location/coordinates: Volunteers will meet at the High Bridge Boat Launch at 4311 N High Bridge Rd\, Brethren\, MI 49619 \n\nGoogle Maps Link : https://maps.app.goo.gl/6PtcEmAd3P9AUYCf6 \nGPS Coordinates: 44.268156\, -86.015794\n\nWhat to bring: Bring your work gloves if you have them and your enthusiasm for improving wildlife habitats! Waders\, trash grabbers\, trash bags\, and all other necessary equipment will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own. If you wish to bring any materials\, we are looking for volunteers to bring mesh onion bags\, which can be helpful for water clean-ups to prevent water weight along with the trash. This project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather\, so please dress accordingly. Be prepared to work outside for the duration of the event. MUCC will provide lunch to all registered volunteers and a volunteer appreciation gift. Steelhead Manifesto will be coordinating a raffle with prizes around lunch. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to reduce waste\, but plastic water bottles will be available throughout the day. \nRegistration closes on July 11 at 12:00 PM. In addition to registering\, please fill out this MUCC digital volunteer waiver individually for each person in your party. Individuals under 18 can have a parent or guardian sign for them. If you need to register or cancel after this date/time\, please email MUCC’s Habitat Program and Partnerships Coordinator\, Olivia Triltsch\, at otriltsch@mucc.org so the lunch order can be updated. \nRegister HERE.
