This field day will provide hands-on practice identifying traits of vernal pools and the organisms that use them. By the end of the day\, participants will have a deeper understanding of how to collect and submit data for the project. \nTo attend this opportunity\, you must complete the Michigan Natural Features Inventory (MNFI) online training. Information will be provided upon registration. Please dress for the weather. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we contribute to a statewide citizen science project hosted by Michigan State University’s Michigan Natural Features Inventory program. We will be surveying one of CNC’s temporary ponds to see what is living in and around it. This project helps gather data for protection efforts of these vital ecosystems. Waterproof shoes are recommended. \nWe will meet in front of the Visitor Center to walk to the vernal pool. For late arrivals\, please see the front desk.
