SUMMARY:Portage River Waterway Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:This event is being sponsored by the St. Joseph County Conservation District (Centreville\, MI). The SJCCD will provide equipment (boats\, paddles\, personal floatation devices)\, along with some snacks and bottles of water. Everyone participating in the river cleanup event is being asked to please phone the SJCCD in advance at 269-467-6336\, Ext. 5\, so that the appropriate amount of equipment can be brought to the event to accommodate all the volunteers. \nArea of Cleanup:  The cleanup will take place from North Fisher Lake Road (Put-In point) to Carpenter Road (Take-Out point). The cleanup will cover 4.8 River Miles of the Portage River. \nDate and Time of Event\, Meeting Point:\nThe Portage River Cleanup will start at 9:30 AM on Saturday\, September 21\, 2024. The Meeting Point for this event will be Carpenter Road at the Portage River.
