DESCRIPTION:Semi-Annual Household Hazardous Waste\, Meds\, Scrap Tires\, and Electronics Collection \nHousehold Hazardous Waste (HHW) are any product or material that has one or more of the following properties: toxic\, flammable\, corrosive\, or reactive and should never be disposed of in a landfill or incinerator. HHW is harmful to people\, animals\, and the environment if not disposed of properly. \nBarry County holds two Household Hazardous Waste and tire collection events each year in spring and fall at the Barry County Expo Center. \n\nSaturday\, May 17\, 2025\, 9am – 1pm | Barry County Fairgrounds\nSaturday\, September 20\, 2025\, 9am – 1pm | Barry County Fairgrounds\n\n\nAccepted Items: \n\naqueous (containing water) acids and bases\noil-based paints\nreactives\nsolvents\naerosol cans\nautomotive liquids\npesticides (liquids and solids)\nlight bulbs\nautomotive batteries\nalkaline\, nickel-cadmium\, lithium ion\, and silver oxide batteries\nliquid cleaners\nheavy metal solutions\nmercury-containing materials\nmotor oil\nelectronics *$10 suggested donation for TVs and monitors – no freon containing devices\nunused or expired medications and sharps. (Medications need to be in their original containers with the name of the drug clearly labeled.  Cross out any personal information on the containers)\ntires (Limit 10 tires per car; only tires from households are accepted – not accepted from businesses.  First come\, first serve basis until trailers are full.  Tires heavily caked with dirt will not be accepted.)\n\nLearn more HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Recycle Palooza 2024 will be held in Charlotte on Saturday\, August 10th from 9am-1pm.  Eaton County residents are welcome to participate.  There is no cost for this event\, though a donation of $10 for TVs and monitors is strongly suggested. \nRegistration for this event is required.
